Addressing overall wellbeing to facilitate your ideal life with your dog
Hi there! I’m Rebekah, The Woofologist! I am a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Professional and Fear Free Certified Professional with a passion for helping dogs and their people thrive.
Since 2014, I’ve been dedicated to working with dogs of all shapes and sizes. My journey into animal behavior began in 2015 when I met my Siberian Husky, Turk. He came into my life as a foster while working at a dog boarding and daycare facility. Turk was quite reactive at first, but I built his confidence and trust through patience and understanding.
Early on, I used balanced training methods that combined rewards and corrections. However, as I deepened my knowledge of humane training and science-based techniques, I transitioned to a reward-based, force-free approach—and I’ve never looked back. This shift not only transformed my training practice, but the joy, effectiveness, and connection that positive reinforcement brings made it clear this was the path for me.
My passion is working with dogs who struggle with adjusting to new homes, fear, or reactivity. My goal is to reduce adoption return rates by helping new pet parents uncover their dogs’ unique personalities and create routines that enhance behavior.
Outside of training, you’ll find me diving into Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere, experimenting with new recipes alongside my partner, or enjoying downtime with Turk and our cat, Kitty.
When I first met Turk, he was alone and scared in a kennel after being dropped off just before closing the night before. He was wary and didn’t trust anyone, nipping and mounting at anyone who reached out to care for him—except me. At that moment, I became his person, and he trusted me to guide him through that tough time. After being misunderstood, rejected, and struggling with resource guarding, Turk finally found his forever home with me.
The early years were a challenge, especially with his battle against Valley Fever, but we tackled every challenge hand in paw. Turk is now a vibrant, healthy pup! He bounces around with his favorite black hole stuffie, lounges on his oversized bed, enjoys regular brushings, and even gives Kitty the respect she deserves.
When he’s not in training mode, you can find Turk living his best life—upside down against a wall, munching on peas, or happily rediscovering old toys from his box. He’s a testament to how trust, patience, and consistency are foundational to emotional resilience and transformation. With positive support and understanding, any dog can unlock their potential and thrive, no matter their past challenges!
It's Effective
Positive reinforcement uses rewards like food or play to encourage your dog to repeat desired behaviors. By rewarding desired behaviors and avoiding unwanted behaviors you are more likely to see effective behavior change.
It's Ethical
Positive reinforcement adds rewards to desired behaviors and does not use any form of punishment, coercion, or force. This is the most humane way to seek out desired behavior changes in your dog.
It's Fun!
With the use of food, pets, play, and praise, training becomes a game for you and your dog. You will notice a strengthening in your relationship and want to incorporate the fun into everything you do together.
